I am upgrading my four speed H41 transmission to a five speed H55F transmission and I want to buy a used transmission to use instead of cutting into my original transmission hub for the fitment of the shifters. The shifter position on the five speed is different than the four speed. I hear that one day an aftermarket company will come out with a solution so people do not have to alter the body of their cruiser. Until that day comes I want to have my transmission hump uncut and ready! I found a transmission hump locally in Miami that the owner said came off of a FJ40. Can anyone tell me if this transmission hump will fit onto my 1978 HJ45? Thank you!
