I hadn't thought about TX Toyota Jamboree before you mentioned it - my off-roading has been limited to rough dirt roads in The Badlands (which probably doesn't qualify for "off-roading"). I see they have beginner trails available - that might be a good way to grow my experience.

For your sliders, are you going to connect the puddle lights or just disconnect and not use any?

I’m a beginner too! I have found the community to be extremely welcoming. I’m sure you would have a good time. You will find me on those beginner trails.

RE: sliders and lights, I believe there is a way to zip tie the lighting wiring harness and continue to use them with the sliders. I am enlisting Jeboost Sobe at Teq in east Houston to help with the installation, so I will pick his brain about puddle light solutions.

I have returned from the Texas Toyota Jamboree and boy do I have stuff-itis. The following has been ordered:

You'll love that Gamiviti rack!
I have info on how to make a clear fairing if you want the LED light bar on it in my build thread.

Thanks man! Your thread was a huge inspiration and working with Tim has been great. Hoping that it will be shipped out this week. Tim happened to have a unit in stock.

When I installed my sliders, I kept the factory courtesy light harness and the bolts from the OEM side step brackets. I connected some Amazon rock lights to the harness, bought a $20 piece of 1/8 aluminum bar from Lowes to make some brackets, and then bolted those back into the OEM bracket holes. It works great and the lights are tucked up above the sliders so I'm not going to tear them off or smash them off road.

Currently having my Victory 4x4 front bumper installed and using this vehicle as a loaner. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this Toyota outfitter here in Houston, so I’m looking forward to seeing everything when the work is complete later today.

New tent! Thule Tepui Foothill that only takes up half the rack. Now I can keep other gear on the passenger side of the rack.

Testing it out in the driveway before going camping with my son next week. My wife isn’t thrilled, but my son is stoked!

Love the 3W's on my GX. Let us know how you like those new AT4W's. Im looking at getting a set for my truck.

Front skid installed! Budbuilt Stainless Steel skid. Super easy to install. I will likely piecemeal the rest of the skids together as I rip off the OEM ones (like I did with the original skid )
Thx for posting this. I have the budbuilt skid and have wondered how it would fit/look with a stealth bumper from Victory or CBI. Looks great!
