Right now I'd consider that a blessingI do rake across the buttons on occasion, but my horn hasn't worked since about a week after The Mule came home........

I'd say that it's the contacts inside your steering wheel "cowling" (the plastic housing between the steering wheel and the dash). Don't know yet, how Mr. 'T' does it, but my are dry as a bone and I can hear them s****ing as I turn the wheel. Been meaning to get in there and lube it before it's too late and wears out like I think your's has. BTDT on other rigs and seems like it's been worse on Mini trucks for some reason. I've owned a few in my life, 2 Datsuns - '72 & '76, 2 LUVs - both '79 4x4s, Dodge/Mitsu D50 4x4, a '98 2WD Ranger and now my '81 SR5. Almost everyone of them I had to lube or mess with the horn contacts - go figure.........Gotta get on that.
As far as the rest of the wheel, I love it, it's got all the right proportions, and it's thick enough that my hands don't tire after a day's driving, but I'm looking for anyonewith tips on how to diagnose my horn.
It does beep on rare occasion when the wheel is clocked all the way to the left.![]()
