Well done Sir. It's not my style but definitely well built and you can tell a lot of thought was put into it. Nice job and I hope to see more produced in the future.

Thanks for all of the comments guys!

Let me know if you have any questions or recommendations on things I could do. Currently, i am adding some little finishing touches here and there like positive locking gas springs, brake lights, reverse lights, backup camera, etc.

Update:

Driving back from Alabama to Colorado. Loaded down after Christmas and new years. The spare tire hitch came in handy! Also used the rack back there it to haul a white tail out of the woods and to our cabin.

With the help of 1LoudLX, we wired up some rear brake lights that sit in the triangulated portion of the bumper. Loud, can you post up those pics/ videos?

I also managed to scrape the back right side corner of the bumper while wheeling Falcon peak off of stage coach road in Colorado Springs. I'll try to find a few pics of that run.

dang, your spare DT looks really worn! how many miles on that tire? i've got like 30-40k on mine and they still have tons of tread...

Nicely done with the bumper. I knew you were an M.E. before you said it.

I have a close friend that was a Naval M.E.. He flew Intruders during Vietnam and went on to enjoy a very successful career with a few different Aerospace firms including NASA.

Congrats on your accomplishments and thank you for for your service. You've earned it.

Impressive! I have to say that I never thought I would like a tube bumper of any style on the 100.

Tell me more (and pics) of the spare tire hitch?

The spare tire carrier is adjustable allowing for different offset wheels and wider tires. The wheel plate assembly rides on receiver material (2.5" x 2.5" x 3/16"). I then have a set screw to lock everything down to keep it from shaking. I have that little cargo rack I made when I was 14 and a bike rack I can put back there. I hope the pictures explain everything better than I can. I got this receiver hitch idea from davegonz after looking at some pictures of his 80.

My paint got chewed up after discount tire rotated my tires...

Yeah...after putting on the bumper and then loading up the rear for a camping trip my front camber and toes angles went to s***. If you notice, the outer portion is almost bald while the interior is fine it did not help that I failed to properly rotate my tires after so many miles. I have since corrected the problem with a front bumper, lowering the front, and getting an alignment. And as the off roading gods would have, I ended up staking 2 tires within a couple 1000 miles of each other which were replaced by discount tire under their road hazard plan. So all is good now. I have about 30k on them.

Thank you very much for the encouragement. I have always been interested in the way things work and why so it just seemed natural for me to want to be an engineer. I will be heading to Texas for pilot training in 2 weeks. Wanted to do this since I was 6 years old and the time is finally here...

Thanks. One thing that probably helps out is the fact that I painted the area under the tailgate to match the color of the bumper, as well as the line x on the rear quarter panels. Still very happy with it and get questions about it around town and on base. Just hate it when people call it a jeep though...

I agree, never liked the thought of a tube bumper on my 100 but this one as changed my mind also. Mad fab skills!

You have created a master piece!

It looks great, fantastic work! The only thing I can think of that you may want to add are recovery points and reversing lights.

Enjoy flight school, and remember that pulling back on the 100's steering wheel does nothing.

Already got recovery points! Look inboard of the frame mounts. I have some duallys just haven't installed them yet. I would love more light back there while backing up!

What did you do with the exhaust?
I can’t see in the pictures
I’m assuming just cut the muffler off and turn down above the axle?
