I normally wire my driving lights to switch on and off with a simple relay for circuit driven by the high beams. This keeps me from accidentally leaving them on when meeting someone.. They extinguish with the high beams.

I guess you mean the fog lights (?).
Could you please explain how you did it.
I would like that as well for my car. Right now I have both - the fog lights and the extra lights on a separate switch to the left of the steering wheel, but it is quite annoying to always have to switch them off for oncoming traffic.
My preferred set-up would be where I can activate the fog lights and extra lights with a switch so that they will then turn on and off with the hi-beam.
Any suggestions?

This mod really is not for the fog. It's mainly for off-roading at night where you need as much light as possible. I did this mod so I could wire my led light bar into the existing fog light switch for my blue berry bumper..

x2, I have my ARB mounted IPF lights triggered with the factory switch now, saved me adding one more switch and with the modded trigger wire, I can run them in low or solo as well. Options are king and I've saved my blank switch spot for second set of lights I'll eventually add.

X2. I just wanted max light output for night driving. Every little bit helps when we are driving rural Michigan. For a few minutes of work, I have more light. Now, eventually I'm doing something different with my fogs so having the option is going to serve me well when I upgrade them.

I do not like my fog lights on with hi beams, as has been mentioned only 4 lights on at a time allowed in most US state highways. My driving lights would be something like 100 watt incandescent bulbs (aircraft landing lights) or similar and extremely brighter and longer beams than fog lights, pretty much making fog lights useless with high beams on. So if my fog light switch is on when I go to low beams the fog lights turn on as well illuminating the critical area directly front and sides llowing me to see the road stripes in poor conditions. I like that.

It is very easy to wire, for a 200 watt light setup you will need a 12 Volt 30 Amp relay in most cases, some 10 gauge wire, and some 16 or 18 gauge wire, butt splice crimp terminals (yellow), yellow and blue ring terminals, and a blue colored scotch lock. (Google this if you don't know what it is). After the lights are mounted run the 10 gauge wire to the first light, the. It's ok to daisy chain to the next light. Connect to the switched relay output. Run 10 gauge ground wire from the nagative battery cable to the first light and then daisy chain to the second. Hook a 10 gauge jumper from the positive battery cable to the switched relay input. Then wire one side of the relay coil to the negative battery cable, and the other side to the power wire that runs to the high beam bulb. Install the scotch lock on The high beam wire near the headlight plug and apply a little dielectric grease (or ignition grease) to the scotch lock to prevent corrosion from building. Your lights will now activate with the beam beams. If so desired you can wire a manual defeat switch to turn them off when high beams are on by putting a switch in series with the negative wire from the relay coil to the battery.

So must do this mod!
