Anybody else fly raptors on here? Here's some pics of my passage redtail doing some flights on the creance.

During training I use beef heart and throw a mouse in once a week. When hunting starts its eat what you catch rabbits and squirrels with a redtail hawk.

In Minnesota you have to pass a knowledge test, score 80% or better. Then the DNR will come out and inspect you facilities and see if you have all the
necessary equipment. If all that checks out you need a person in the general or master class to sponsor you.

I've always been amazed by people who have this hobby! I wish I had the time and a few less hobbies to get into this.

I'll stick with my reptiles for now.

I have actually performed some of these inspections. As mentioned, falconry is not so much a "hobby" as it is a way of life. It's a 24-7 responsibility.

It's dictated by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, a federal law upon which state laws are based (states can be more stringent if they so choose, but not less).

Fines and penalties can be large, so it's an activity best enjoyed by folks who are meticulous and detail-oriented (not me 😎).
