Apologies in advance for posting a common question, or if price talk isn't allowed. I did browse the archives, but didn't find an answer for this specific case.

My local dealer has a 2018 with a few hundred miles on it, never titled, no rear entertainment. They can't sell due to the recall, but I'm wondering what a reasonable price would be. I test drove it a month ago and it seemed to be in fine condition, just a little dirt from being kept outdoors and test driven.

Looking online seems like invoice is in the mid-70s? Dealer is asking in the high 70s, while other dealers have 2019s at similar prices, and 2020s are due pretty soon.

I imagine they're paying interest to keep it on their lot, and I'd be eating depreciation buying a car that's viewed as 1-2 years old, even if the miles are low.

What do you guys think is a fair price?

78k is invoice (77,800ish) w/o DVD. I would think you could get it for about $3000-3500 off (dealer holdback) because it’s a 2018.

2020s will start production Oct 22nd. Should be in the US end of November.

Good luck, PM me if you need any help with warranty pricing or any questions

Make sure those tires are smooth. If it’s had a birthday and been sitting around for a while, may have flat spots on the tires. Also check the brakes for excessive rust. Just the lot rot for negotiations.

Also, the recall kits are available for most “new” vehicles. They may not even know but every deal should have at least one kit.
