Hello, new to this extremely helpful forum and had a question about factory/OEM shock and spring updates as the part numbers on shocks & springs seem to have changed in 2016.

I just got a 2013 LC w/90k miles. I bought the Toyota strut spacers and I’ll be installing soon.

Someone has a full set of 2019 takeoff shocks & springs for a decent price in my area and I was thinking I could put those in while I’m at it to renew the suspension.

Does anyone know if these parts will fit directly and why the Toyota part numbers would have changed? Could I maybe expect any performance improvement in the later model year parts? I see all the aftermarket parts seem to fit ‘08 & up universally.

Not looking for aftermarket suspension at this point.

Thanks

No Physical reason why they wouldn't work. Part number could have been rolled just as improvements are made through running and model year changes to the product. If you can get them cheap, I'd go for it. I wouldn't give too much for the stock suspension parts, as upgraded aftermarket shocks, springs etc like OME would run about $1000 and the install cost will be the same regardless of whether you're installing used OEM stuff or an upgraded aftermarket suspension.

I’ve seen people on other posts say that the newer models may sit up a little higher than the earlier 200s. Any truth to that?

please do! I've got takeoffs from a '19 sitting in my garage waiting for me to find time to put them on. I think i'll get a good increase from where I'm at now since I've got so many miles on the suspension.

I am in the same position. I bought 2019 shocks takeoffs for my 2008 but haven't installed them. I have the front spacers too ready to be installed. Maybe I should get some springs if I can get them cheap and they will improve the ride. I have 103k miles on my 08.
