factory roof rack differences

Yes. I know this is an old thread.
But I can't seem to find the info anywhere on MUD, so...
Based on reviewing A LOT of photos online, I believe these are different OEM / Factory Roof Rack configurations for both 100 Series Land Cruisers and Lexus LX470s.
This should help someone buying a Factory Rack off eBay, Craigslist, etc.

Land Cruiser

1998 – 2000 shows 6 supports (3 per side)

• Front support is above the rear of the front door
• Middle support is above the rear of the rear door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window

2001 – 2002 shows 4 supports (2 per side)

• Front support is above the rear of the front door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window

2003 – 2007 shows 6 supports (3 per side)

• Note: Appears to be the same configuration of the Land Cruiser from 1998 to 2000
• Front support is above the rear of the front door
• Middle support is above the rear of the rear door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window

LX470

1998 shows 6 supports (3 per side)

• Front support is above the rear of the front door
• Middle support is above the rear of the rear door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window

1999 – 2002 shows 4 supports (2 per side)

• Front support is above the front of the rear door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window
• Can’t find the Part Numbers for the Side Rails

2003 – 2007 shows 4 supports (2 per side)

• Note: Appears to be the same configuration of the LX470 from 1999 to 2002, but at least some of the part numbers are different
• Front support is above the front of the rear door
• Rear support is above the rear of the rear side window
• Part Numbers for the Side Rails show 2003 – 2007

Some additional observations I've made for the LX, please correct me if I'm wrong:

1998:

• Not every 1998 came with a roof rack (press photo)
• Roof rack is matte black

1999-2002:

• Roof rack is matte black

2003-2007:

• Roof rack is paint matched to the body (glossy)
• Side rails are different than 1999-2002 models (the end pieces/attachment points are slightly different)

Here's a picture of my 1999 (close) next to a 2004 (far) - my 99's rack is matte black and appears to be slightly taller, while the 04's rack is glossy white and appears to be slightly shorter.

Are the crossbars the same on LC & LX and interchangeable?

1998:

• Not every 1998 came with a roof rack (press photo)
• Roof rack is matte black

1999-2002:

• Roof rack is matte black

2003-2007:

• Roof rack is paint matched to the body (glossy)

Very muddy waters. Might also be a Canadian vs US market thing. I'm jealous of your headlight nozzles.

This is a 2002 with a body matched rear deflector (haven't seen that before) and unpainted OE roof rack.

This is a 2000 with a body matched OE roof rack.

I don't think anyone was paying up to paint their roof rack so I feel like it has to be a distributor/port option.
