Had some issues with an F engine, which ended up being multiple problems, so I slapped a 2F in my 1969 pig instead of even repairing the old engine. The F engine has one temperature sending unit, while the 2F has two on it.

Are these suckas just wired in parallel and I can just run one sending unit? Guys who did an F to 2F conversion, what did you do with this part?

Dont know about the second sending unit plug one off You can not use the 2F sending unit with the early gage Different omes, you have to use the 1f sending unit to work with the early gage cluster.

you will have to fab up some plumbing parts to make the long 1F sender work I used a 1/2 brass nipple and a brass coupling to the stock Toyota bushing

One of the temp senders in the 2F head is for the emissions "Computer", one is for the gauge. I ignore the one I don't need.
I don't know if the F and 2F oil pressure senders are different...I do know that the place on the 2F where the pressure sender would be on the F doesn't work.

Is anyone aware of a temperature switch that will install in one of these two threaded holes that can be used to turn my electric radiator fan on/off (on at around 200-210 deg F and off around 180 deg F)?

I have searched ebay and the web, but can't tell if any of the switches would fit these threaded holes.

Thx!

Sorry for hijack...What happens if you run a 2f sensor in a 1f guage cluster?

Will a 2f temp sensor make the guage run "hot" if used in an earlier cluster and 1f engine? I have a 9/72 engine, replaced the temp sensor during my rebuild, and now sits at "hot" when the engine is at running temperature. Could I have gotten a wrong temp sensor? Dusty 66 stated it would require different fittings. Does this answer my question?

Temp guage

I have an early 73/40 with a 78 2F. When I swapped engines I used the same (early) guage cluster. I have seen no diff in the temp reading. It works just fine. Hummm....
