Sorry maybe you've already answered this but I'm trying to figure out how you used the input shaft from the toyota tranny with the flywheel/pilot bearing of the mercedes? also what set up did you use for the clutch and pressure plate? thanks

he's using a toyota flywheel with a toyota pilot bearing.

ok, now I see that, but wouldn't drilling into your toyota flywheel substantially weaken it... Plus you're talking about a huge mercedes starter compared to a 22r starter...even if it does have gear reduction in it, it would still burn out or not have enough crank, right?

the starter works a-ok
and i dont think thats a toyota pilot bearing

from his writeup on 4btswaps.com he says he used a toyota pilot bearing on the 4runner swap, I was just assuming this one was the same.
