Recently I wrote about how we were going over Yank's peak for a second year. However after speaking with some locals that had been up near the base of the mountain, we decided against it. They said there was still snow along the sides of Cariboo Lake - undoubtedly making Yank's Peak unpassable.
Instead, inspired by the Taseko trips posted here in MUD, we decided to venture into the amazing Chilcotin.
Left Williams Lake about 9am, making it over Sheep Creek Bridge into the Chilcotin.
Made it to Hanceville and Lee's Corner shortly after that...
We passed through Alexis Creek, purchased
and made it onto some forest service roads heading south.
We made it all the way down to about the middle of Taseko Lake, just across Beace Creek. The road had just started getting interesting, but it was 6pm and we needed to turn around. Next time we'll be taking 2 days for this trip and making it further into the mountain ranges.
Enjoy the rest of the pics!
