Looking online i have seen the split flanges that are used to repair rotted away flanges. For now this is what i need to do to eliminate my exhaust leak. I havent seen any posts on the forum about using them. MY questions are.

1. does the split flange come with both sides or just one side?

2. What is the size flange you used for your project? I see the factory exhaust is 2.25 but I am wanting to know from someones past experiences that they had to use a different size because of some unforseen reasons.

here is the flange i am looking at.

Split Flange

2 existing flanges - one or both rotted out, so it's a "rotten marriage". Split flange application: the 2 halves pull apart. - one half on the north side of one existing flange; one half on the south side of the other existing flange; pass the long bolts shown in picture through the holes in the split flange and tighten.
P.S. I never actually used one until repairing my son's 2000 Cavalier this weekend - 12 years in Michigan salt winters ! You should see the existing flanges.. the bolt holes look like inlets on the coast ;)... open sided that is.

Good luck,
She's real fine, my 409

They did end up working good, but i had to massage them with a grinder to fit a little. Biggest issue was the rear pipes after the cats, since there is a seam on the pipes i had to notch it. Still it worked, but i have still a n exhaust leak from a rust hole in the side of the pipe by the O2 sensor. Still working on that one.

Depends on the application. Different flange kits solve different problems. I had an issue that no kit would solve. Take a look. C Flange Bracket. Something I made out of my basement.
