Left a sealed! package of bacon in the ARB fridge (hidden behind some beer I guess). The fridge has been ON all winter, and the bacon still partially rotted a lovely green colour on one end. When I discovered this, of course removed all the contents, washed it out 2x with dish soap and warm water, scrubbed thoroughly. Turned off the fridge. Didn't notice much smell then but put a dish of baking soda in there and closed the lid tightly. After a week of this I opened it up and it still slightly smells of rotten meat.

Suggestions?

Try an enzyme cleaner, like the kind for cleaning up behind pets. It will remove the biological odour.
Or, do you have a bag of those disposable toilet powder? That is also very effective odour remover.

Can you use bleach in there at all? Not sure if that's too harsh or not.

Nasty....

another thing I did to prevent nasties growing in the fridge when not in use it take the locking handle at the front and flip it up partially opening the lid. Store it like that to keep airflow going through it.
