Ah, don't ya just love the rainy season in Costa. I got stuck last year in my rental Pathfinder (damn those street tires) around Junquillal and got a tow from a nicely built......FJ40 :) There's a guy in Parisal with a Unimog that helps folks out down there. I'm glad he wasn't in at the time of my troubles 'cause I heard that the last vehicle he tried to pull out lost it's bumper. :whoops:

That's funny!! Did the guy with the Unimog have to pay for the bumper or did the car owner?

That's what I was thinking too.

Also, from what I hear, tugging backward is a great way to snap a birfield.

I still haven't found out what happened at the end- how they got out. I had to leave for a wedding and when I got back to work on Monday (this was a saturday afternoon), the truck was gone.
Fortunately it wasn't in my yard! The truck driver did offer to pay for my broken strap, but I figured it was pretty old anyway. I had already gotten another one to replace it, now I've just got to find the new one and put it in the truck before I need to get towed!

If I find out how they got the truck out, I'll follow up.

i got stuck in some really odd thick suctioney mud near the local elementry school one time. luckily the ice cream man was driving by and he cut his passenger side seat belt, tied an end to each truck and pulled me right out, was a funny sight, he had the music going and everything.
