i know one of you knows.

Don't know the wt in lbs. but the 454 is the only light truck motor I've manhandled that's heavier than F motors!

Engine Weight

Bare "F" block is 165 lbs.

I am sure you were looking for dressed weight. I know the engine stand and cherry picker both seemed to moan when I pulled it for the rebuild.

SOR lists shipping weight for F/2F as #600.

I've heard ~700 for full F/2F
~ 200# less for the standard small block v8.

This is just what I've heard. I've only pulled F's and 2'Fs as a complete drivetrain on a 4 ton overhead I-Beam pulley. Sure as hell beats an engine lift.

Bailey, old boy, if you've only pulled engines on an IBeam hoist, how can you say it beats an engine lift?

Have done both, but still never weighed the engine personally (lacking a proper scale). Actually, I dangled the whole front end of my truck by the engine hooks using my chain hoist on the IBeam the other day!

thanks for the info.
anyone else know whats up?
or, what's heavy?

I've used an engine lift for other heavy lifting. :flipoff2: It sucks comparitively.
