I need some help and hope someone can guide me, What is a fair price to sell a new 2017 V8 1VDFTV 4500cc diésel engine

We need some more details to comment: is this a brand new engine in a crate from Toyota or a takeout of a vehicle or something else?

Secondly, is it a short block, long block or complete engine? Does it have injectors, turbo, fuel system, ecu?

Lastly, looks like you're in the states and if so, to my knowledge the engine will not be legally able to be used in an on-road vehicle there

The engine was takeout of a vehicle.
Its a complete engine with hardness and ecu

Depends on the condition/klms of the engine

They sell them in Australia for $7k USD. You could add on a few more thousand for a low klms engine
And it also depends on which variant it is eg 70 or 200 series.

So it will only fit in a 200 series due the twin turbos.

Hello,

x2.

I understand the 1VD is not (yet) on the EPA catalog/database; quite likely it is not legal to sell in the US. The government has a million ways at its disposal to make your life miserable.

The twin turbo variant is specific to the 200 Series. Not many applications without modifications.
