Thanks for the cost information Sc0-, my complete WAG using Toyota and ARP parts was about $2.3k.

I think I spent $2k on machine work et al on my 88 Supra, several years ago. Never mind the forged bits.

I see Beno has the same affliction I do. I get the impression your job is hard on your wallet in that regard.

If you decide you want to swap rather than rebuild, I've got a newer block for sale. I live in Pinetop but could bring it down to Gilbert in the next week since I have to go down anyway. It's a 1fz-fe from a 93. The guy that rolled the cruiser had replaced the block new from Mr. T and put a machined head on it. I was told that the head mechanic at the Toyota dealer in SLC, UT was a cruiserhead doing the service for a fellow cruiserhead. I have the records in a 3-ring binder the PO gave me when I bought it. Let me know ASAP if you're interested if you want a discounted price to tow away the whole vehicle before I start disassembling it this weekend. Cell 982-369-8320

Good luck with the project whatever you decide, and shoot me a message if you ever want to explore the White Mountains and want some company:cheers:

In order to use a 93-94 long block in a 95-up vehicle you will need an upper oil pan, oil pump drive gear, crank position rotor and crank position sensor from a 95-up motor. To "properly" remove the timing cover (to change the gear and add the rotor) you will need to remove the cylinder head.
