So, heres my question. I have a small block, SM465, NP203 range box, NP205 that I'm beginning to install in the 45. I have the engine located where I think it should go in the frame to have the distributor clear the firewall, the gear shift come through the floor at a place that makes sense, etc. But, it seems like the mechanical fan is going to be 6-8 inches lower than the original fan.... should I go to an electric fan, should I lower the radiator, or should I fab up a custom shroud?

I may have made the problem worse by trying to keep the engine low in the frame to keep the center of gravity low. I don't think I can raise the entire driveline without modifying the floor pan, I could tip the front of the engine up, but I prefer to keep it mostly level. Suggestions? Thanks, Luke

kc-chevota: what radiator and fan do you use to keep the 383 cool? Just curious, so that if I need to go that route, I already know what works. Thanks, Luke
