changed my AFM, TPS and adjusted, and then the igniter. runs great! with the AFM and TPS it ran a little better then with the new old igniter it's running awesome.

Sweet, those darn igniters can be a SOB, good thing good used ones can be had, a new igniter is about $400.00, I keep a spare one in the truck just in case.

I need help or advise.. My 1989 Toyota pick up had a check engine light and it was for the knock sensor . I replaced the knock sensor and wile I was at it I changed timing belt and valve cover .. Now my truck still has the same check engine light for the knock sensor and is really lacking on power . Idk Wat it can be ?? Wiring to knock sensor ?? I have been trying and working on it since Friday and I haven't gone to work cus that's my only car .. Plz help

Bad sensor wire. The Toyota dealer ship near you can order the section of wire you need assuming it's a 3.0. If it's a 22re you'll need to just run a whole new wire

Ok I just bought the new wire from worldpac and I'm debating to either take it to a mechanic or do it myself .and yeah it is the 3.0

You don't need to.

Ok this time I took the truck to a mechanic . Which hopefully it takes care of the lack of power and the gas guzzling problem .. I wonder why the mechanic said that the knock sensor usually doesn't make the truck act like that !???

It can explain the lack of power, once you hit either 2k or second gear the ECU will go into safe mode.

Belt not tensioned correctly more than likely.

Now that I got the knock sensor replaced I'm wondering if it has to break in or something cus it runs better now but there is still a slight difference in performance I could tell ??
