Hey y’all I’m looking for ECT symptoms on my 1995 4.5l.
Seemingly random drop in rpm’s while in idle. Sometimes creeps back up or resets after turning of and back on again. Kinda seems like it happens more after driving on highway or warmer days.

Been having low idle rpms for awhile and can figure it out.

Are you speaking of the head temp sensor?

I’m having idle issues as well. Just replaced the head temp sensor & still the issue persists.

Welcome to check my post about it.

No engine coolant temp is above and to the left of oil filter. My issue ended up being a bad ground from me removing it to add another ground. I also had a corroded positive terminal… first things first have you done anything to it before it started happening? What’s the symptoms?

Prior to the symptoms I had an A/C line replaced. The one that runs along the passenger side of engine, closest to the turbo downpipe & O2 sensors replaced.

Symptoms are all very well explained in my post. I’m not going to duplicate all those posts.

Ok I skimmed through a few pages, Im at work and Ill have the kids when im homes. So not sure I’ll get to finish

ill just list some easy things you can check.
If you aren’t running the ac and don’t have the problem it’s probably not that.

Check the intake hose for holes. Clean and check with multimeter the IAC, MAF, TPS.
Ensure O2 sensors are oem and the same brand.(I’ve read mix matched sensor can cause issues).
Saw you did vacuums. (Not gonna be the brakes if it happens with foot of brake).
Check wiring to battery terminals and grounds.(bad ground can cause crazy issues).
Oem spark plugs gapped to .31mm, wires, cap and rotor/check timing, 7-5 is factory.
If all that fails, clean throttle body.

You can also call a shop and asked. The old head was certain that it was wiring and it was. He also mentioned cleaning the egr port through the plenum, apparently they clog and cause tons of issues.
So if you are planing on cleaning throttle body go ahead and clean the plenum and replace the valve cover and spark plug gaskets(if you haven’t ever done those they are probably bad).

Hope this helps. Sorry I couldn’t read your whole post.
The shop I called was mudrak custom cruisers in Sonoma county ca. the guy is legit.
