I stand corrected.
The atomic bomb dropped! Just ordered a Short Block Assembly from Olathe Toyota. Two are on the way to the national warehouse, so they will know more about timing sometime next week.
3 Business daysOut of curiosity, how long did it take you to get yours?
I would not put that back together if it was mine. New block for the win when they have a sale. You are doing a lot of good work and doing it right. Keep us posted.I am building this with the plan to keep it. This is going to be an off-road rig. I have re-geared front and rear differentials with ARB air lockers and 300M chromoly front and rear axels to go in, full suspension re-build waiting to go in, Front and rear bumpers and winch to go in, and was doing the head gasket to make it last longer. That is my use case. I was avoiding taking the block out because I just had the AC system rebuilt and did not want to disconnect it and have to pay refill. I am not opposed to taking it out and having it machined but if I can get another 100,000 miles out of it like it is, then that would make sense as it would get me another 5-7 years down the road while I plan a diesel swap or full rebuild.
