El Wahsh -- a 1993 GCC-spec Model 80

That knob is the lock/unlock knob for the rear hatch. It allows you to unlock and open the hatch from inside if needed.

Thank you FJP; headed to the scrap yard today to see if I can find one.

I did indeed find a knob for the back hatch lock and it is on El Wahsh now.

And last evening PAB delivered the truck back to me

There are a number of issues, but I'm going to drive it for a few days as a shakedown. But the basics are there now. I'm really happy with the simplified color scheme.

Well, after a HUGE amount of effort, including the rebuild of the second steering box, El Wahsh is on his way to the US with his younger sister Dhanno the 1998 with 500K KM on the clock.

It turns out that it was much cheaper to ship two together. El Wahsh and Dhanno will share a single 40 foot container from Dubai to New York.

Well my 93 and my 98 made it safely out of customs and to my home in Virginia!

The 98 has a model 80 Toyota winch grafted on which justifies, I think, including a photo of her in the model 80 sub.
