ECU (lost master keys) reflashing

Thought I'd post this info for others' use. Locksmith Charley is still by far the cheapest ($150), but some people may not want to mail off their ECU. Maybe others can add to this for their areas.

Just an update. Don't know what all happened, but I think I got a deal!

Reflashed ecu
cut & programmed remote key (i provided) as master
cut & programmed remote key (they provided) as master
re-programmed valet as regular key

Total $168

Was that ($168) done at the Houston location you posted as charging $500?

Toyota has a one time per vehicle ecu replacement policy, but you have to buy the keys. Even with the free ecu, that still would be more than you paid.

Yep, same place.

IIRC, the goodwill ECU replacement only covers the ECU itself. You pay for labor as well as the two keys.

Local locksmiths are generally the best bet for this, but I've seen it on ebay too.
