Not since I was about seven and a half years old have I had this much fun on Easter.

This year I spent the weekend with a couple of my favourite cronies doing one of my favourite activities...wheeling! In the early Spring months in Northeast British Columbia, in an area just S of the Peace and Pine Rivers, there is one particular area that makes for an especially interesting setting in which an especially interesting adventure was to be had... Mud Creek.

We timed our first official 2010 Swamp Donkey wheeling trip perfectly right. Snow blanketed the ground we travelled through... and we knew that if we were to find some of the best eggs the Easter Bunny had left this year we would have to look really hard. And we did...

Deny, Curtis and myself hopped into Deny's new 60 while Adam and Amanda and their pooch Diesel joined us in Adam's Bronco. Soon after meeting up at the trailhead we were on our way.

We made pretty good time and had very little trouble in the deep snow.... until we made it to the step up. Here, the trucks had to take a few runs up the steep hill but eventually both trucks made it up.

We had a hard time finding that rascally rabbit's eggs... so we had to resort to better searching techniques.

We had a bit of success but soon came to the end of the trail, mostly empty handed.

Adam, growing frustrated at the lack of chocolate recovery going on, decided to take things into his own hands. He had an idea.

He knew that that rabbit was pretty tricky so he decided that he'd have a better look inside....his own vehicle. We weren't entirely convinced with his idea... but we went along with his reasoning.

He decided the best place, and the first place he'd look... was in his front tire.

Amanda and Deny were skeptical. :censor:

Low and behold..... Adam's hunch was right on the money. Not only had that tricky rabbit been sneaky this year hiding eggs, the quality of the eggs we were finding was exquisite.

Adam hit the motherload when he looked inside his tire and found a MAGIC pink egg! What a lucky guy.

The Easter bunny snickered as he watched us from a distance...

After Adam's lucky find, we decided that we needed to go back into Fort St. John to get rid of our haul of Easter eggs. So, we left the Bronco sitting on the side of the river and all piled into Deny's Cruiser and headed into town.

About an hour later we were back at the Bronco, ready to continue the hunt for more Easter joy.

What fun!!

And why are you taking pictures of Rockdoc's cold sore on his lip:hillbilly:

toche.

Yeah they woulda done better for sure, but I got a pretty bad front axle seal leak, waiting on my marlin seals to show up so that I can replace it, then the swampers go on. I don't want to cover my white rims with a bunch of axle grease and crap so I can never clean them up again.

He changed the rear PS quarter panel :flipoff2::hillbilly:

(and has a pimpin winch out front)

I like how you have changed nothing:grinpimp: too funny!!

glad to see it out, get those tires changed!!!!!

Yeah that happens when you have to work 10-15 hours a day for 3 months strait. No time for work on truck, but if buddy calls to go wheeling, and I have a free day, frick yeah jump in and go. I did notice the front drive shaft splines were pretty poached so I measured up my 42 rear shaft and it was the same length, but not enough time to switch out, so I just grabbed the shaft off blue and threw into the truck and off I went. It pays to have more than one cruiser for sure.

I was impressed so far how the wagon handles itself on the trail, that extra locker and the little longer wheel base helps in quite a few situations.

Oh and I did add the spare tire on the roof too! ;)
