Early Model Brake Question

I want to upgrade my front brakes to vented disks, from all i have read the swap is easily done on later models but not 79-80 models.
What are the differences with this axle that prevents the swap.
I have searched but i can't find anything that states what the differences are.

I think you need cruiser rotors from the same year as your axle.... there are a few links in the FAQ.

So thats the only difference, the number of bolts holding the rotor on?
Thats great, then i shouldn't have a problem upgrading the rotors on the rear as well

The rotors on 79-80 minis do mount slightly different.
Get rotors for a 79-80 LC and you'll be fine.

Might want to check out the calipers as well..
