Early FJ40s - more leg room?

Hi All -

I have an early '70 FJ40 with the stock split bench seats. I am wondering what people have done to get more leg room? I know the later FJ40s you can reverse the seat brackets and there was also an adapter/spacer sold. Thanks for any feedback.

Good question. I'm 6' even and I'm pretty cramped in my 71. Hoping someone chime in here!
