Good luck with the new arrival!

Did you get any more information on wedges under the PTO? I didn't even know such a thing existed and am about to install mine for the first time...
Cheers,

Thanks andrews520,

No info yet on the PTO wedges. I am assuming that they tilt up the PTO winch for a better worm shaft to drive shaft angle and so the contact points between the chassis, pto cross member and mounting bolt head/nut can mount together nice and flat. I am just going to make some to suit when the time comes. :hillbilly: Or someone might chime in with some info, who knows?

Cheers Soot

The Wedges.

G'day alecl,

I breezed through a few threads of your a while back. 60 series power steering conversion is ringing a bell. It is great that there is another 40 series fan close to home, well there has to be with the amount of old 45's getting about here! Would be great to catch up sometime so we can talk all things land cruiser and so I can have a real go look at your rig.

How far are you along with your truck? If youre ready before july next year youll have to join us on the 40 series run to Cape York. Its looking like its going to be a pretty big run. Alot of 40's coming.

This thread is pretty well up to date, although I wish I was a little further ahead :bang:

Looks like I'm gunna be missing the fun mate. No way I will be ready for such an adventure! Thanks for the kind offer. Be sure to post up some pics for us.

About time you did a bit on it. The spiders will think they have a new home.:)

Have no fear Aussie my good man, no spiders were found.

Look out, made some progress! not much, but some. Started working on that cab floor section behind the passenger seat. Traced the curve from the corner and cut it out, then tacked, checked and welded. Still some more work to do before I weld it in. What to get the rocker panel sorted and the corner panel rolled so I can line it all up, make sure it will all line up and tack, check everything 10 times probably then weld it in. I am a procrastinator!

Hi Mate, looking good, I assume that it was Mick's 55 that you were looking at the power steering originally.

G'day tourboy, thanks. If you are talking about the Mick from Kempsey that now works for Snowyhydro, then yes. He was being quite generous with that offer. It is a fair drive to go pull some parts though. Probably going with a 60 series setup, hopefully I can find a local car and get the gearbox while I am at it. I got my eye on one now, just waiting for it to run out of rego, get parked up in a paddock, then hopefully I can have my way with it!
