I will be starting on my 45 SWB soon. I have been trying to come up w/a replacement for the fiber board liner in the rear & corners of the cab. I know original is out of the question. Anyone found a similar matterial ? What are others doing here, just leaving it out?

Huh? I have not seen this material you describe? Got pics of yours?

Does it look anything like FJ40 headliner material?

Reason I ask is that I HAD something like headliner material glued into the back of the cab on my 64lwb when I bought it. It was HORRIBLE!:barf:

it is a textured chipboard
the texture looks much like leather
here is a pict of mine

WOW! I wondered what those small sheetmetal screws were around the rear window area. Looks like they had a purpose after all.

Sorry I can't help but............got any more pics of that stuff behind the seats?

Thanks.

looks pretty much the same all across the back & left looks like right side
actually i would like to see a good image of the head liner :)

I have the same in mine, not original, probably FRP-Fiber Re-enforced Panel. It is used as a wall covering in many commercial applications. Try a flooring dealer or commercial refridgeration supplier.

Abecker's 45 has the same fiberboard type stuff( see the Sneak Peak thread). I am thinking of using it as a template and replacing it witrh some light gauge SS or painted galv. I also am going to check with a local upolsory shop and see what they may be able to come up with.

Can you take a picture of the hardtop-to-windshield connector for me? We need to come up with one of those as well.

Thanks,

Tim:steer:
