DVDelete?

My headliner is down for repair and I have an Android head unit/stereo. It's my understanding that there's no way to utilize the stock DVD screen with an Android HU. While I'm in the process, is there something better to put in it's place? Maybe a different screen? Or just delete the DVD screen entirely and modify the headliner to make it seamless? Some other roof accessory (storage or light or comm/radio or something?) Thanks!

I was going to delete the dvd on my 08 and cover the hole. I unplugged the DVD player and it fu$&ed with the main head unit. As in the head unit wouldn’t function properly with the rear dvd unplugged

Rear DVD screen issues

I’ve had this LC for about 8 years and I have never used the overhead DVD . Yesterday I noticed the screen is now opening and closing when I start/ stop the vehicle ? Anyone know why this would have started up all of a sudden? I don’t have the remote. Thanks Steppe

I'll be using an Android HU, won't be using the factory HU at all. It'd be cool to use that space for something, anything....maybe radio/comms? Or a little overhead storage bin? Might end up just plugging the hole in the headliner backer board with poster board/foam board, covering it up with headliner, and proceeding as if it never existed....I just hate wasted space.....seems like I should be able to use it for something. Hmmmm.....
