I carry a small pickaxe and shovel that I purchased at a surplus store. I believe that the shovel is British Army surplus; however, the pickaxe is standard G.I. They are always part of my personal pioneer kit.

I've heard the same regarding the chain link; however, I'd be leery that it would get thrown out. I'd love a couple of pieces of PSP (pierced steel plank) from the old military runway stuff.

I cary one of those fancy "THe Max" Multi tools. Yeah it's pricey, but use it for everything when we go camping.

Short d handle shovel. However sometimes you need a bigger shovel.

If you're so stuck you need THAT to get you out, I'd just write thr truck off as a total loss..

There is little that a good shovel (I have the $6.99 Wally-World jobber) and a hi-lift won't get you out of..
