My 81 FJ40 w/split transfer got a 2.5” Old Man Emu lift and shortly afterwards the drive line vibrations developed.
I swapped that lift over to the BJ42 and having the extra length of the H55F, I can see why the previous owner went with the double Cardin rear drive shaft.
It wasn’t till I saw your post/pictures that I started to question if my rear drive shaft was an oem setup or not.
Strange that Toyota would equip any 40-series with a double Cardin up front. This especially since the ones latest in the production timeline with an H55F would also need a longer front drive shaft. Wonder why it only showed up in the HJ45’s.
I still have the drive shafts from my 4-speed/split case setup. These were original to the truck. I can get measurements if you’d like for comparison.
