I've been going to Downieville for a very long time, since the early/mid '90s. I have spent a magical afternoon in Greg's original shop pre-season chatting with he and a guy I found out later was Mike Ferrantino. I met Mark Weir at random on the ridge near Deer Lake where we talked about fishing for some time before I figured out who he was. What you may think of as hype with a quick glance at the movie is very real.
