Double Flaring Tool Help

Reason I asked as all the flares has something string like on the lip of them. I could peal it off. Kinda like dry pipe dope.

The OEM inline flaring tool works great. Got my flares all looking good and not leaking.

Looks like there is no or not much of a chance for the button to tilt side ways with that tool.

I used that tool and it worked fine for me. The trick is the cut has to be perfectly square. On my first practice flares it would tilt sideways until I realized my cuts were a bit crooked.

hopefully the final flare will be soft enough still that tightening it down on the connection will deform it to just right, so I'm thinking that the exact shape of the flare is not a critical issue (within reason).

Generally speaking, though, I have played a bit with double flares and found the quality of the final result to be very dependent on the softness / quality of the tube you start with. Some just don't work well.
