As an avid Toyota enthusiast it feels right to document this journey.

This is my 7th Toyota, I have build threads floating around on many other toyota forums.

Current look photo place holder:

List of mods:
GMRS MXT275

Mods on order/on hand:
Ironman Stage 2 kit 2.5/2
Icons on 285/70/17
Compressor mount for ARB Dual
Scangauge II

We all know what a 460 looks like but here is the obligatory first day photo.

Next post will be the GMRS install

Alright here we go, picture heavy. GMRS install.

First I always like to run the antenna as thats usually the tricky part for me.

This is where I wanted to do a magnet mount, looks good. Reception is awesome.

With location decided we move onto routing the cable. I went down the left side weather stripping and into the body above the door light plunger.

added a grommet (will put size here when I find it)
Could've been a lot smaller if I wanted to solder a coax end on once it was through but I did not do that here.

Then I routed the cable thru the driver side panels towards the front.

Here is the mounting location I found for the actual radio module

It has a screw holding it up and some adhesive on the side. Not sure how kosher this mounting is but will definitely update as I beat it up offroad.

Post #2 on GMRS install coming soon

Here is another angle of the mounting location.

Now onto figuring out where I am going to mount the ethernet port.

This R&D moment involved me pulling the radio and climate controls along with the shifter trim. In hindsight I did not need to pull the radio for this install location.

I then ran the ethernet cable from the radio in between the leg airbag and the steering column. Then over to the right some more and under that plastic piece labeled K.

Now she is in prime location. Next post is the ethernet port I used.

Now I orginally was planning on flush mounting this port on one of the silver trim pieces below the volume knob. However, I decided not to do that because I would have had to clearance a lot of the support bracket behind those.

So this is what I came up with. I would probably not flush mount in this location because its hard to see and some tactile feedback would be good when plugging it in. I can pull it out and mount it from the front, and that might just happen soon.

Then reassemble everything.

I tapped power with an add a fuse at an open spot on the interior fuse block.

Still haven't figured out my handheld mount spot yet.

Here is a better photo of how I ran the ethernet, not a great photo but better...

Also I sealed the grommet as it was quite large to fit over the coax end.

Does that 80 series have the factory front AND rear lockers? If so, you'll get quite a bit of coin for it!

Suspension Day!

Ironman Stage 2 KDSS.

should be around 2.5 in the front 2 in the rear.

Looks like I skipped leg day.

And since no install day is without its troubles... I found out my torque wrench no longer clicks at the proper torque...

Glad its all on there and done. The stud has been replaced, that was by far the worst part of the whole day.

Icon wheels on tomorrow, alignment on Monday.

Love the bronze wheels on black!

Got out into the ozarks. Was a blast as always. Certainly didn't camp at an actually campground but looked like a good picture location. Impressed with the Ironman setup.

Are camp grounds as booked up out there as they are on the west coast? Good luck getting a weekend campsite in So. Cal.
