same thing on LX, must remove the door panels to get the grille off.

But are they the same speaker panel LC/LX...I'm going to compare LX to LC in the morning 2001 to 2001 back to back.

I recently replaced speakers in the front doors. Cloth on speaker covers looked awful. Removed the cloth and sprayed with Rustoleum Hammerite in a silver closely matching the grey door upholstery. Looks great and easy enough since I had the door cards off anyway.

I wrapped mine in Stinger brand brown grill cloth. It was the brand I was used to using in the car audio days. The factory tan color showed all kinds of dirt, this darker color hides the dirt, salt, etc... well. I did mine 3 years ago and still looks pretty good.

Wow. Well done and exactly what I'd like to do since the new fabric will eventually succumb to the same fate as the originals. May I ask what paint you used for this?

I used Sem color coat paint (rattle can) its specifically made for vinyl/plastic. I can't quite remember the name of the color exactly, maybe lt. oak but I had to try several similar colors till I found a close match. Also when you peel the cloth off they'll be some dried residue from the glue, just use some light sand paper to remove it, then use a toothbrush with soap and water in the sink to clean the holes out.

Finally got around to a speaker repair and grill recloth today. Both mid-bass foams were basically gone, and my right grill cloth was completely missing. I bought the following fabric to replace both sides (and eventually all grills) so that they would match:

As you can see from the picture, the color is not even close to oem. It is much lighter in person than the pictures show online. (I cleaned the old fabric; it is hanging in the pocket for color reference). However, my lx is Sand Dollar Pearl, and that match is pretty close so I am fine with it. Total cost for a yard of fabric (enough to easily cover all of the grills) was $20 not including glue. I used the glue included in the repair kit and it wasn't to bad to wrap. I used my old grill cloth as a stencil.

Can anyone confirm sr5pickup's rec for SEM lt. oak? is it a good match for Ivory?

His came out great... but my '98 LX speaker grills look different under the fabric. May want to check yours.

In case anyone needs the part #'s, for the Gray interior (which they call Stone), the part number for each side is: 67709-60011-B1

I need to replace the front passenger door speaker grill cloth in Stone, is the part number same for both front LEFT and front RIGHT? thank you very much.

The left and right are different. Your part number is left, this one is right.

I painted mine black, looks better and no worries about wear.
