Vehicle Model
  1. 80 Series
I have a pair of used door mirrors for JDM/HDJ81 (or RHD FZ/FZJ).

They are painted black (Not sure if they are original or have been repainted/resprayed, but besides the regular wear/tear on them they look reasonably clean (YMMV), with shiny paint.

And since it's been so long (probably like 16+ years) since I gained possession of them I do not recall whether they are in working order, or if they had the retracting feature that some of the 80 Series models here came with.

I thought it would be nice to have them as spares since the angle/mirror pieces would be different than the North American-spec 80's (Correct/Educate me, if I'm wrong though) and even if any of the motors were blown (adjusting/retracting) they should be fixable/replaceable.

I got a close-up pic of the connecting wires (Seven wires: so hopefully that'll indicate which type of mirrors they are (I've only seen three pins/wires for those without the retracting feature)).

Anyway, not sure if they are still obtainable new, but one site I found that listed the prices (in Japan) said $332.99/side + shipping ($665.98/pair + shipping)
I think you could get them from OZ, cheaper, although they may not be retractable (They could be. I just don't know).

I am going to ask $395 for the pair, plus shipping ($50/slowboat or $150/express air).
Shoot me an offer though, if you're interested in them.

I don't mean to appear I'm out to take advantage, lol.
I've looked on e-bay and here on Mud for something similar (folding mirrors for Japan-spec 80), but had a hard time finding them.
If you have links of similar items to set me straight, I would love to see it and would appreciate that!

Anyway, as you may have seen me saying this in my other For-Sale posts, I am going to be leaving Japan in less than a week. So I would love to get rid of these, if possible.

If I end up not getting a reasonable offer (or any offer at all, lol) I'll probably take them back with me to Utah and stash them in the garage for me to use on my truck, with the rest of the parts that I thought I had, but would not be able to locate when needed, lol.

The only blemish on the mirror side that caught my attention was where I'm pointing my finger, where the mirror (under the glass) is tired. On the other mirror (pic) what you see at the bottom is just a reflection of my body part (knucke?).

I did a half-ass job of wiping the mirror side, and the paint side got some gubers that should, as they say, buff right out, well a lot of them anyway. Other than that, it's just normal blemishes for mirrors of a vehicle that were on it for 10+ years, and sat for the last 10+ years.

Again, I would like to entertain any reasonable offers, so don't be shy!

And as always, thank you for looking!

Are these still available or did I miss the party?

My passenger side mirror decided that it didn't want to live anymore on my 81.

They're somewhere on the Pacific atm (Sent them to myself via slowboat).

Did your mirror have an accident, or just stopped working?
If it's the latter, have you tried fixing it?

I just don't know if these mirrors I got are in working order or not, and I'd hate for you to buy them, only to have them not working, lol.

The glass and motor fell out and the mirror glass is in 1000 pieces. My power folding doesn't work and just makes a horrific sound when I push the button.

I'm okay if they don't fold. Truly I need just the glass but I'm okay with the full mirrors.

That does sound a bit messy, lol.

I will let you know when (Hopefully not "IF") they arrive.
It used to take 1-2 mos, but now they say it could take up to 3 mos to get here from Japan.

Unless I change my mind and decide to keep them, you can have them.
Or IIRC, MY PS mirror still folds, but I believe it was the DS that did not retract. (I haven't driven it in a couple of months, and been longer since I tried the function last).
IF that's the case, maybe I could just keep the DS and you could have the PS. (I'll have to check and make sure I'm not being dyslexic about this).

Anyway, thank you for reaching out.
And if I haven't posted about them by Thanksgiving, contact me and I can lyk if they've arrived or not (in case I forget).

Thanks again!

Sounds good! I'm in no hurry and if you can use them great! And if you do, I'll buy your broken ones!

Keep me posted and if I haven't heard anything I'll reach out around Thanksgiving.

Hey, I thought you were gonna remind me during the holidays, lol.

Thanks for reaching out to me!
After a two months or so of slowboating journey they did make it.

And I do not have much attachment to them, so I would be happy to part with one or both of them.

If they are not hard to remove/install, I could try putting them on my truck and see if all the functions (especially the folding part) work or not.

LMK what you'd like (me) to do.

Thanks again for getting in touch with me.
Hope all is well with you and the loved ones!
