back east...
So me and the wife got into a big argument about her 200 on Saturday...she tells me the front passenger and both rear doors have intermittently not been unlocking (only driver and rear gate unlock). Of course when I jump in and try it works fine for me and I off putting-ly say "it probably just the battery or the setting in the nav screen..." She get pissed cuz I dont take it seriously enough plus this has happened a couple times already to her and not helpful to her day...

After things cool down she mentioned the door unlock button on the driver door doesn't even unlock the 3 doors. So could this be an auto lock setting in the nav display? key fob battery? bigger electrical gremlin? Any known problems with this system on the 200? I did swap her fob for mine (without telling her) in case was battery or fob related...

I briefly searched and did see some individual actuator problems. Our 100 had the actuator motor problem so I bought a couple of the 5$ motors and replaced when failed. With the 100 the problem was an individual door while this seems more like could be an electrical system problem? Tho if was actuator would think would only affect 1 door at a time not 3 of them?

Will get it into dealer hopefully this weekend as have a recall to do. She did mention recently having the tire pressure light system 'failure warning' on the dash but cleared itself up... so maybe some sort of electrical gremlin affecting the door locks as well? Have that on the list to check when in shop...

Likely that the settings are associated with each individual key and your wife's settings are not the same as your's?

Just had another thought. I had weird electrical issues that came and went and included the TPMS when I had water in the dash/passenger footwell area from a backed up sunroof drain. I got it all dried out and all the problems went away. I couldn't even get a good reading from the Toyota TechStream while it was damp. Just a thought.

Thanks Kid...will check the footwells & drains.

I remember their was a member here who had an issue with water into the ecu from improperly installed windshield...

Sounds to me like the setting in the Door Locks menu. "Unlock Driver Door Only" vs. "Unlock All Doors"

What happens when she pushes unlock a second time? If it's set (for security) to only unlock the driver's door it should unlock the others on second click.

Some good ideas (and advice...lol) will try to dig around tonite if the weather holds...

Can also do the "hey Ill go fill it with gas, run some errands excuse"

1st rule never tell her she is imagining it or it doesn't do that when you try it. Logic is not an acceptable answer. Next borrow the 200 for a few errands to see what is really going on and use her key.
A wise man knows that in the theatrics of marriage logic is the evil accomplice to his sound argument.
@OP, ya do the "ill gas it up" thing and then take it to the furthest away gas station. Like go to the one you like in the next county over.

I'll tell ya all the rest of the story...

SO on that Saturday when this happens and I dismiss her she then asks for the service writers name at the local stealer we use so we argue some more and I just tell her go ahead take it in, ask for Wayne or Ryan, get a rental car, etc etc, ...so she goes there and they give her the typical diagnose run around "it will have to have it happen to them to even diagnose" blah blah...she gets frustrated tells them f%ck off and comes back home...

Last night she tells me why she was frustrated and left...while she was standing at the dealer she overhears a service writer telling someone on the phone "the wife keeps complaining about an "issue" and the husband keeps bringing it in and they cant diagnose and dismiss the wife claim...

My wife overhears all this husband/male dismissive tone even at the dealership where they should help her and lost it...LOL

^ I can’t blame her. It sucks but I’m sure this happens all too often at auto shops. Where I take my LX570 I have a woman service writer that is EXCELLENT. That might be the way to go.

One more thing...she mentioned driving home yday and that proximity collision warning beeped while driving and then when she parked it and locked the whole car it did a weird multi-beep when she locked...she said all odd.

So I ended up swapping out an auto battery (from my tundra) as it tested a bit low and was from late 2016 ...will also replace the key fob batteries tonite.

The drama continues...

Following on the fob piece... is the behavior any different with different fobs?

Update: new fob batteries with new auto battery.

This morning she goes out to leave for work and as she approaches the truck beeps multi times, inside light blinks, and only the driver door unlocks. She did not manually use the fob nor even try to use the fob, was all smart key proximity related. The backseat driver side door was locked so she tried to manually unlock doors with fob & also doors unlock button and no go.

Is there a way do disable the proximity smart key feature so when you approach vehicle it does not auto unlock and you have to manually use fob?

It was raining all nite so any concerns with water getting in some where? I will check driver/ passenger floors and try to pull the cabin air filter so see if wet since I read somewhere about the possibility of windshield leak after replacement and poor design of drainage.
