I'm fixing up a 1990 2wd Extended cab SR5 pickup.

My electric mirrors weren't working. I found the typical broken wires in the door jamb as the problem.

I can't just solder it in place or use butt connectors or it will surely fail again soon from the flexing.

It's not like I have good access to splice in a new section either.

There's 3 wires completely broken and 4 that are almost broken.

Anybody done this repair? Suggestions?

I had a repair like this on my kids car. I just junkyarded a new harness.
That door harness plugs in kind of behind the speaker. Pull it out and repair.
If you have spare harness parts you could swap those lengths of wire and put the splice in the door

Good to know that it plugs in behind the speaker. A splice will have two points of repair unless I have extra to either pull out of the door or the cab. Basically shifting it one way or the other.

Unless I find a boneyard harness like you mentioned.

🤔 Thanks gnob

You just need the clean lengths of wire, so most trucks of that vintage should match.
You need to pay attention to whether or not you have the secondary lock on the plug or not. They don't interchange.
The year break is mid 91 ish

IF I even find a donor, I wonder if it would be just as bad.

I'll see if I can disconnect it and make some sort of repair. At least get a new section of wires in place to hopefully take a few more years of bending.

I'm not doing a restoration. I just want to get things working again.

Thanks for the info gnob.
