Bugger... I hate when a simple job becomes a PITA.
 
Are you planning to take your doors on and off a lot? One of the vendors (Mathew) came up with Quick Hinges which might be easier to make work. If they were something you’d want anyway, I’d switch... otherwise stick with what you have.

You have just taken my PITA job and made it simple. I am going to take the body side of the hinge and cut the two tubes off. I will get some new tubing and weld them back on raising them up 1/2'. I will order a set of brass bushings and that will also take care of my extremely worn out hinges at the same time. Thanks man. I owe you one.

I’ve used 3/8 OD x 5/16 ID ‘Oilite’ bushing to refresh my hinges. They work great and should never wear out.
 
Yup, had 78 doors on my 71 and no problem mounting them. The weight sucked big time as well as the thickness that shrunk my interior room. There gone.

Never notice the small loss of space inside the cab verses the original two piece doors. I know the earlier doors are slimmer. Same with the weight of the two. Biggest thing I noticed was how much less the newer doors rattle on washboard roads. The cracks in the doors that are common at back of the vent windows on the two piece doors was from movement in the upper section. The 75 and newer doors were a improvement over the earlier two piece style. Just too bad they dropped the vent window in North America.
