Well, on my last 2 weeker I was at a place where I got too comfortable . I stayed 4 days , ie no exploring with the cruiser.
I on the second nite started the cruiser and ran it for 20 mins. I opened the bonnet and saw that I had 2 green eyes on my marine lead acid batteries, so I didnt even check the voltages with the voltmeter. I keep my Waeco CF-110 running @ the 3 bar setting which is about 2c according to the inside thermo. at an ambient of 17-22c.
Third morning time to leave! After packing up everything, I hop in the BJ 74 and click/clack. No start/ OH NO ! (I am a soloist) so no other 24v vehicles to get a jump. In fact there were no other vehicles for about 45kms plus.
OK so after throwing a fit ( because I was laxed on the 1hr battery charging for every day the vehicle sits at the location)
I had some work to do , disconnect the 1/4 MB-T trailer . Get out the HI-LIFT using it as a hand winch pulled my self to a slight slope on the dirt. I wasnt on a dirt road or near a road period.
So 3 hrs later I finally got the BJ 74 bomb started. Now I was in the heat of the day getting close to 30C . The fridge temp was pushing 10c any longer and my weeks worth of meat and dairy was bear food.
So now the 74 is running, as soon as the volt gauge show it to be in the safe mark. I plug the fridge in and the compressor starts up and then stops. OH NO ! Pull the fridge out and find the Emegency switch. Happy days again she fires up but no lights
. I switch it back to normal , the WAECO doesnt run. So I put it back on Emergency, It works but no lights and cant control the temperature, so It runs on full throttle and goes to Freeze mode. So I try to keep it regulated (not freezing) by plugging and unplugging. I would let it get real cold before bed and then unplug.
Anyhow there is a fuse on the circuit board (rectifier). I hope to get this thing working properly soon . It is out of Warranty.
So guys and gals lets keep our voltages up so it doesnt harm the electronics.
