remeber this is only on the wet food not the dry food.... I am sure most of us feed our dogs dry food...

I use one pouch of ol"Roy and mix it up with three cups of Pedigree and Iams blended hard food. The dogs really like the Pedigree but there is a lot of filler in it. The Iams is healthier but they don't like it as much. I mix it all together with a pouch and each beagle get's one cup of the blended food for dinner. For Breakfast they just eat the blended hard stuff.
My lab will eat anything.... and all dogs will when they are hungry enough.... If my dog played the old... "I am not eating this food any more.." he would go hungry, and trust me they will eat when they need to.. once you start that game it is never ending!
The food with more filler goes right through them. They poop everywhere and a lot. Feed them 20lbs of food in a week and you will pick up 19.5lbs of poop the same week.
The higher quality food gets absorbed into thier system and you will have very little poop to clean up. The problem with the higher quality food is that they are still hungry since thier stomach is not full.

the good I see in this situation...
1. Healther dog better food
2. less poop for you to clean up
3. one less cat
4. less rodents to dig up your lawn

The friggin Beagles go into full trenching and escavating mode when going after the Moles and Gophers. They can dig up and mess up a yard faster than the average person can on a Ditch Witch trencher.

Get three Beagles on the same scent and just watch the dirt fly. There is nothing you can do but watch and laugh.

yeah, it pissed me off too but i'd hate to put a company out of biz for one disgruntled worker's f-up. i'm sure over 50% of the people that work for those companies have pets too and i doubt they want to lose their jobs. just my $.02. still makes me pissed tho.

I did not feed my guys the infected food.
How could a person contaminate 60 million cans under 95 different brand names?

The CBC said last night that investigators suspect that the rat poison came from contaminated corn meal imported from China; the food all shares a common source for corn meal, and that kind of poison hasn't been commonly used/sold in North America for years.
