I gotta know. Here is how my shoulder belt mounts. The top is mounted to the upper hardtop, or the alternative mount is on the exposed lower bolt on the rollbar bracket.

The lower part is mounted to the rim (black/grey on my truck) side. How is yours different?

i'll shoot some photos thonight when i get home and show ya... but it's different

if there is one thing i have learned about these trucks, it's that not one is the friggin same! gotta love it though.

here it is... i think the dome light threw the focus off.

close up... there is a reinforced area for the pulley

You got two options:
1-buy the 3 point kit from CCOT-includes seatbelts and brackets necessary to have 3-point belts minus hardtop. I use these cause my truck came with lap belts. They are ok, have a tendency to lock up.
2-just bolt the loop thing to your rollbar-use one of the existing bolts on your bracket, and use a peice of angle steel to bolt the ratchet part to the base of the rollbar using one of the existing bolts. This is what CCOT does.

This is really not a big deal...

I wish I had a digi cam. My bottom lower hard point is a factory bracket welded on the roll bar. Yep, it's not there in the pic you posted above.

Is that hole that is tapped in the rail below the retractor and alongside the rollbar big enough to accept the retractor bolt?

It seems silly for toyota to have built the retractor mount into the removable hard top, but it sure looks like they did on your rig!

It's been a bout 20 yrs since I last had to deal with oem belts. I just bolted my seatbelt windup mech. to the rollbar at the same height as the orig. mounting location and bolted the loop to the rollbar bracket with one of the OEM bolts. Worked fine. About 15 yrs ago I found an Oldsmobile seatbelt that fit the seat mounted portion of the orig. belt and happy ever after.

that last pic is how i thought it was supposed to work ??? as near as i can tell my cruiser came with only lapbelts from factory (73, no oem rollbar) i've since got a rollbar and i'm gonna put teq 3 points in... i figured the retractor went on the side of the seat, along with the end of the belt, and the middle tab went on the rollbar?

whoa didn't realize this was an older thread... sorry to bring it back up from the dead!

(stop that rhyming, i mean it!

would you like a peanut?
