Hey Heroes,

Have a question my mechanic and I have been trying to solve. I have the full Dobinsons suspension, but the normal spring weight is 440 pounds. Its not enough for the weight with the tent and all the other stuff I put on the vehicle. The next upgrade is 800 pounds. I tried the upgraded springs, but they were too much. Apparently Dobinson says there is a 600 pound spring for the 80 series that "may" work (how they do not know this is unclear to me).

Anyone have any dealings with this issue?
Thanks in advance, Kings.

I have a similar question.

What do you mean by "not enough" and "too much"? Too soft/stiff, or ride height too high/low? If the stiffness is in the ballpark of what you want, but the ride height is too low, you might want to try a spacer.

80/100 springs are interchangeable, but might be different lengths. A lifted 80 will use a longer spring than a 100, so, while all of the 80 springs will technically fit on a 100, many of them are too long.

You might want to write Mike at Exit Offroad and ask if he can compare the uncompressed lengths of the springs you are familiar with with the one you are considering.

Airbags is the answer here.
If you use the car as a daily driver a softer setup is preferred, otherwise the ride will be too harsh.
When loaded the softer suspension will sag therefore you need something to help it maintain a decent ride height.
