This may be a dumb question but the ticking noise bothers me. I think it's my fuel injectors but I can't tell. Any thoughts?

Valve adjustment or minor leak at the gasket.
You'll never hear the fuel injectors. A pronounced tick is most likely an exhaust manifold leak.

Minor tick at idle. I've adjusted the valves 3 times and I know they are spot on. I've looked hard for an exhaust leak and have not come up with anything.
I agree, I have done the same and came up with the same results, a tick. I think it might be part of the beast.

Haha mine does as well. It bothered the sh!# out of me.. But like most of the other noises I have accepted it.. My radio tends to stay loud.

Mine ticks too although not all the time. Have adjusted the valves 3 times in the last two months, goes away for a day or so then comes back. Valves are spot on. I was told that most do this (as it appears here) and to forget about it.

Do yall think a lot of it might be coming feom the egr valve. I was reading up in the trouble shooting in my cruiser book and that's what they say it is.
I figured the ticking was part of the "sewing machine" 3FE sound

Anyone who says you can not here the injectors has never listened close enough. You can hear the injectors on the 3FE and the 22RE.... I will have to pay attention with that on my mind for the 3.0 and 3.4 V6's this week... not sure about them. Pretty sure I can hear them in the 1Fz motors... again, I will have to think about it while under a hood this week.
