Do you have a roof rack?

Curious how many of you have OEM or aftermarket roof racks.
I have a prinsu one and I am debating switching back to OEM.

OEM with 4 crossbars (2 extra). Works great for paddle boards, bikes, snowboards. Even test fitted a RTT no issue. I’d even go with 2 more crossbars if I come across them.

OEM but LC not LX with 4 bars (2 LC and 2 LX modified). In the garage I also have 2 Thule long square cross bars for when I load too much crap on the roof or haul lumber, etc.

Unless you have a lot or specialized stuff to keep up there and/or needs to stay there most of the time I do not see a need for aftermarket.

Stock works really well, and is effectively silent with negligible mileage penalty. The current issue is some of the adapters to put yakima parts onto them are NLA.. I was lucky and scored both horizontal and the more rare vertical mount adapters, which allow my snow sports racks (winter) and shovel (summer) to bolt right up.

If you do remove the aftermarket stuff heed the warnings about the captive nuts above the headliner.. they have given plenty of competent people some big headaches.

I always regretted putting an aftermarket rack on my built 100 series, but then after a few years I regretted almost everything (2.5"lift, diff drop, front and rear bumpers with swingouts, etc, etc) but the sliders, winch (wish I'd gone with a hidden winch in the stock bumper) and ARB compressor. Less is more in my opinion.

Gobi rack on the 2015 200, factory on LX570.
Gobi rack is HEAVY and a wind noise generator. But, if you regularly need the use, it's great. The only thing I will get for the LX are the crossbars to fit the factory rack.

Ya they removed the headliner to install it (previous owner had a shop do it).
Question now is, can I remove it without having to remove the headliner again...

Or do I leave it alone now that it's already installed..
