I've been trying to figure out how to hang curtains that function, easy to hang and take down and cheap... I originally had para cord running all around and several pieces of material/sarongs and whatever I could find, and it was not a quick set up and take down, it was easy to get tangled in when enter and exiting the rig.

I've searched and found only two posts and not a lot of solutions, so I thought I'd share. Someone suggested I look into a darker tint for the windows but that does not solve the privacy issue, 1- it makes it harder for the driver to see out the windows in an already tall, large rig and 2 - when inside with lights on at night, EVERYONE outside the rig can see you... no thanks! Also, I am on a homemade sleep platform, so we lay at window level, privacy is important.
Another suggestion was to add hooks, but I do not want to have adhesive gunk all over if I ever want to remove said hooks.

So here is what I did:

I ended up getting:
6 - 36” bungee cords $9
4 - 78”x15” brand new thrift store curtains THAT MATCH Betty for $1 - extra wide so less would be better, but this will be just fine considering I only paid $1 for 4!! 15" is perfect!
2 - white curtains I already had and hadn't use - for the back
1 - long green curtain I already had for the front (hanging sideways /replaces the blue)
4 - zip ties

The curtains slide nicely along the bungees, the bungees have nice easy hooks for putting up and taking down, easy storage and curtains provide complete privacy.

I added 2 zip ties to the backseat handles above for the bungees to overlap.

Yes, the curtains are extra wide, but I can open the curtains out of the way at the backseat doors for easy entrance and exit of the vehicle.

I will go out tonight in the dark and turn on the interior light and see if it all works. But this is the cheapest and less invasive as far as hooks and ways to hang the curtains.
And…
Peace of mind!
Oh, and cat approved!

Front but I think I will move these to the back because they are longer and if the hatch is open and tailgate down, they can hang off the open hatch and provide privacy on the tailgate, if needed and for summertime:

Added zip ties:

Back hooked to the outside and hatch closes on it:

Opens easy for access:

The green curtain will replace the blue and be hung in the front, or I can use the sunshade for the windshield, oh and cat approved:

Here's BIG Betty, just cause...

I did purchase screens for all the windows and skylight plus a mosquito net canopy for the back hatch that all attach with magnets or slip over the doors. I feel I am now set for window covers and bug free screens inside for summer camping. Now to add more power outlets and maybe another power supply, open to ideas there...

Thanks for reading!

Props for camping with the cat. My parents used to take their cat with them on all their adventures in Baja.

Looks pretty comfy in there @Mesa Woman. Does the Mesa Man still have to sleep outside?
lol, I’ve got room for him as well.
I got a new mattress and I think I’m set for more camping adventures with Big Betty!

I think next weekend we are cruising south for my bday… I need warmer weather to camp!

Made mine from plastic poster board…friction fit with silver insulation spray glued to the inside to combat condensation and keeping a little heat
