The fully smogged F engine I'm putting in my no smog '70 cruiser has a vacuum advance distributor. My old non smog mechanical distrib is shot. Can I use the 'new' distributor w/o the vacuum crap? I'm taking off all of the smog stuff.

    what do I know?

The distributor I had was a vac advance with one vac hose. The replacement has two hoses. Any idea how I deal with that second hose?

If the advancer is a single diaphram with two nipples, one on either side, cap the inboard one and run the outer to the carb vac port.

A fully smogged F engine will have a vac retard distributor. That is a bad thing (tm). If the distributor is from a 2F engine and has two vac fittings, then at least one of them is vac advance, a good thing.
