My battery light came on yesterday and now my 99 LC has no brake lights and is stuck in park. Battery is testing at 12.2 when not running, and 11.9 when idling. I’ve lost power to my seats, windows, and automatic locks. Battery is less than a year old and she starts no problem. I want to say “alternator”, but the stuck in park and no brake lights has me freaked. Anyone encountered this? Sorry if this is the wrong location for this post - I’m really struggling at the moment. 😞

Low voltage like what you have can cause all sorts of weird issues on this truck. Per the FSM, should be at least 12.7V off and 14.1V on. Dropping below 12 under load = alternator is not charging the battery.

Pop this small cover off that’s circled in red, then press the white switch underneath it. That will allow you to shift to whatever position you want.

Charging light illumination typically signals alternator is done or going. Test to confirm. Battery could also be bad or one caused the other to go.

Charge battery out of the truck and see if it holds charge and load test to make sure there’s not a dead cell.

Check your terminal contact. Sometimes it’s loose or corroded and you can get these ghosts.
