Dumb question. When did 4:11 diffs get fine spline pinions and late model larger rectangular pinion drive shaft flanges?

Thought I knew, turns out I'm stupid.

75 or 76 i think. then in 79 they went to 3.7

I'm pretty sure 78 was 4.10 fine spline, 79-87 was 3.7 fine spline, and 88-90 was 4.10 fine spline.

My 77 came with 4.10 course spline.

Like mwalls I was thinking 76. Then I was talking to Hocker and he said the part # changed in 1/78. So it must be fine spline started in 78.

you can get flanges from vendors that have 4 bolt patterns in them now. makes my life much easier digging out driveshafts in the garage to put a project together. both course and fine spline.
